The Arise Gala was a once in a lifetime experience full of hope and self worth. I'm not a selfie person but I took a few selfies at the Arise Gala. The makeover was mind blowing. When I saw myself for the first time with professional makeup and lashes. l had to take a deep breath and let it sink in for a moment. I didn't know the person that was looking back at me. My only words at the moment was, wow. Dawn and the lady who did my makeup was, amazing. I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. But I couldn't mess up my makeup. The Arise Gala left me with a sincere feeling of hope and self worth. Thank you Ms. Cheryl D for allowing me to see myself in another light. I enjoyed the entire experience this far. I appreciate everything you have done to make this all possible. I hope in the future I can pay it forward to more ladies in future, and help them to see their self worth as well.

I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer on October 1, 2015. I was very upset and crying but when I came to myself, I was determined to beat it. I went through chemo, surgery and radiation, all of them in 2016 and on October 28, 2016, my Doctor called and said that I was Breast cancer free(still is). I shouted thank you Jesus 🙌🏾 Hallelujah 🙌🏾 I encouraged everyone to please get yourselves checked. I love being a part of Cindy's girls. I've been with Cindy's girls when it was founded in 2018. I was one of the recipients in 2018. I thank God for the founder, Cheryl Watts.

Cindy's Girls Foundation has supported me during my breast cancer journey. I was the recipient of an award at their 1st survivors luncheon in 2021and last year's luncheon was a success continuing to promote services and events that are so important for the healing process.
